Autumn Glory by @MG_WELLS🌾#Art🌾

Autumn Glory is an oil pastel on canvas approximately

30×40″ and means a lot to me. It was stolen in 2012 by a

former roommate, who refuses to return it.

Despite all my efforts to reclaim it, I have not been able

to and the law has not helped me to recover it. If

anyone has seen this painting, please let me know.

This piece won the James D’Arcy Award/Best in Show

from The Arts Society of Kingston, New York in 2004.

I didn’t have time to comment on this post when I first read it, MG, but felt compelled to do so now that I have a little more time to spare. This is a beautiful painting – and many congratulations for winning the award. Your roommate sounds like a nightmare and I’m sorry the law can’t/won’t help you to get it back. You are obviously a talented artist!

  5. It’s a lovely painting, MG. I hope you someday manage to get it back.

  6. Wow, MG! This is horrible! If the value is over $400 it should qualify as a felony and the police should pursue it? If I were you I would research the defamation and libel laws and then go to your local TV station. Most have investigative segments that can put the police in front of a TV camera and shame them into doing something. As long as everything you say and or print is the absolute truth (should check with an attorney) you can post the story on your Facebook page. I’ll see if I can think of anything else!!

So wonderful to see you on my email alerts again!!!

  7. That’s a truly beautiful painting. Sorry to hear it was stolen. Not sure why, but didn’t realize previously you were an artist.

  8. I hope it finds its way back to you…
